David Grossbard has been working in the financial services industry for over 20 years, providing investment management services to hundreds of clients, primarily on the East Coast.
He says, “What I find most rewarding is helping people through the years. As my clients’ lives and goals change, we work together to implement new and current strategies to achieve long-term objectives.”
David responds to client needs with alacrity, and conducts annual meetings at a minimum. “Trust is not one conversation, it’s built through the years. You have to have ongoing communication, and most of all, really listen,” he says.
Holding Series 7, Series 63 and Series 65 in addition to his life and health insurance licenses, David focuses on wealth management, tailoring each client’s individualized wealth plan to their lifestyle desires, financial goals, age, time horizon and risk appetite. “As clients get closer to their retirement age or are concerned about market volatility, we review alternate potential strategies together,” he says.
David founded Sylvan Financial Advisors in order to formally focus on wealth management services. “We create your investment plan, then monitor your overall portfolio performance to help ensure we achieve your plan goals,” David says. Sylvan Financial Advisors is aligned with The Investment Center, which is the firm’s registered investment advisory, as well as Otterstedt Insurance, with headquarters in the same location. David chose both companies as partners because their approach and philosophy mirror his own.
David grew up in the greater New York City area and earned his Bachelor of Science degree in business administration and management from Queens College. He has been married for over 25 years and has two daughters—one in college and one entering college next year. An avid golfer, he enjoys the competitive nature as well as the friendly camaraderie of the game. David is a knowledgeable sports fan and enjoys all types of music. He considers it very important to give back to the community, and he does so by raising funds for local charities.
